I'm wanting to do a fun book/reading challenge this year
but haven't been able to come up with anything.
In the past I've done
2011: A-Z
2010: local authors
2009: specific genre
2008: just reaching a specific number (100)
Anyone have any ideas for me???
I totally think you should do debut authors or debut books. The Story Siren has a list of debuts coming out this year. She even has a list of books that came out last year.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any recommendations---but I do hope you'll write about the good books you read:)
ReplyDeleteBooks with numbers in the title? That's all I have, or maybe a different country. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteLike on FB, I'm no help, but let me know what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteStar Trek fiction. Ha, ha! But maybe something to do with a series'. Like '5 sets of series with 3 books and 3 sets of series with 5 books.'
ReplyDeleteYou could do award winners. That would give you a pretty large pool to pull from with Newbery, Printz, Agatha Award, Coretta Scott King Award, ALA Notable Books etc...
ReplyDeleteor
Books set in America (or other specific locations)
or
Books with green covers
or
find a few bibliographies that sound interesting at your local library and read everything on their list
or
Only read books that have been recommended by two or more people
or
only books featuring luchador wrestlers as the main characters
or
do something topical. For example if you read a historical fiction novel about the War of the Roses follow it up with a nonfiction about the same era.
Good luck!
