A few of the memories

Here's a small sampling of our trip to Disneyland. (And a small background first.)

When I was 0-7ish my dad worked as an accountant for Disney so we'd get family passes and we'd go a lot. I loved it! And I think because we were still little when my dad decided to get a new job the magic is still magical to us as opposed to some folks whom I hear grew up in that area and went so often it's no fun anymore.

Any who for our first annual my-side-of-the-family reunion my parents took us to Disneyland.

Ok back to our trip. Obviously most of the pictures are self explanatory. A few highlights included:

~Lunch with the princesses. All the kids got a big kick out of that.

~Day 2 we bought autograph books. I didnt think they'd care, but they did. So we ended up scoping out the characters. At last most of us did. My oldest got shy all of a sudden.

~Turns out my 6 y/o is a roller coaster nut. She rode on Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Gadgets Go Coaster.

~My parents kindly took the kids back to the hotel one evening so hubby and I could stay and play in the park. It was a blast! (We went there on our honeymoon.)

~I love seeing my kids love every part of the trip. The plane ride, the bus ride to the parks, staying at the hotel. It's so fun watching them enjoy all the little things.

~My son was so excited about every thing he saw. It was awesome watching him discover so many things.

~My 3 y/o was loving all of the magic!

~My 6 y/o lost her 5th tooth on the shuttle from the airport to the hotel.

~We had a fab lunch in the Blue Bayou where I even tried a tasty new dish. (mmm I'm hungry)

~We got to see the debut show of The Princess and The Pea. I think we're all looking forward to seeing how good the movie is.

~Favorite characters:
2 y/o: Buzz, Woody, Lightning McQueen
3 y/o: Tinkerbell, Buzz
6 y/o: Princesses

~Favorite rides:
2: Monsters Inc., Nemo Submarines
3: Dumbo, Teacups
6: Splash Mountain, Autopia
Me: All of it
Hubby: Indiana Jones

~Favorite treats:
2: Suckers
3: Churros
6: Popcorn
Me: Churros
Hubby: Cotton Candy

What fun! I adore Disneyland! When I was in pre-school, we lived close enough to watch the fireworks every night. I think because of that, going back there now helps me recapture that 3-4 year old excitement. We're hoping to go as a family next year.

It's been forever since I've been to Disneyland. I can't wait to see how Syd & Rob react. Love the picture of you in the sunglasses w/ your little guy, your family with Mickey, & your two girls with Cinderella. SO CUTE!

Cute! I still think it's magical... although this one year we got these special passes, where if you went in October, you could go all you wanted until December 20th. We had five little kids, and we dragged there little tired bodies down there so much that they got to the point that they would beg... PLEASE don't make us go to Disneyland:) hahahaha! The culmination of that year, was when we went one night with the sole intent to watch the Christmas parade. We went early, staked out seats on a curb, and waited. It was particularly cold for So-Cal, and by the time the parade came, they were completely OVER it. On the way out, my 8-year-old son looked up at me, as we were thronged by hundreds of cold people on their way out the gate, and said, "Mom, isn't this just like that movie Titanic?" (which, by the way, I did NOT let my 8-year-old watch all of... he had seen the last scene pretty much) I said, "What do you mean?" He said, "All the freezing people trying to get out, and they probably didn't want to come, either." hahahahaha! So we waited a few years before buying annual passes:) Sorry... long story, I know! :)

Wow, looks like fun. I still have never been to disneyland, hopefully one day we can take our kids. But I have panic attacks in large crowds so.........who knows if it'll ever happen.

Um...Are you referring to me about "loosing the magic?" I thought so. Hope I didn't kill anything for you. I do want you to know that I had a great time when we went last month. Looks like you guys had fun too.

Those are great pictures! I LOVE Disneyland, even if I've been there too many times to count. There is nothing like seeing your kids experience the magic for the first time. The way their eyes shine, their total enchantment with it all. How fun!

So fun!!! Is your hubbs wearing an Indianna Jones hat? Is that because it's his favorite ride? Hee hee. Oh, and did the Cars characters move or where they just fixtures?
