Blogversary (presents included)

I started blogging 3 years ago today! It all started with my fabulous little family blog and then earlier this year I decided to create this one just for me. It's such a great milestone I wanted to share it all with you.

Here are 3 contests in honor of 3 years-

1~ You could win your choice of one of the following:
*A copy of Shiver by Maggie Steivater
*A copy of Ruined by Paula Morris
*A copy of Airhead by Meg Cabot

Comment on this post and make each answer a seperate comment for maximum chances to win. (Answer any or all.)

-If you were to win, what book would you choose and why?
-Do you have a favorite candy?? Tell me!
-What's your favorite thing to do for date night?
-Blog (or fb or tweet) about this giveaway and I'll enter your name 5 times in each contest.

--------------

2~ Take this fun little quiz with random questions about stuff I've posted on this blog, and you could win this Movie Night basket. Anybody who completes the quiz will be entered.

--------------

3~ Comment on any post I've made (or make this week) and get one entry per comment. You could win a box of my favorite things. (I get emails of comments so dont worry I'll be able to keep track if they're on other posts.) Believe me, It's gonna be super fantastically awesome.

All three contests will be open until midnight on Sept 1st, 2009.
Must live in the USA or Canada to play (sorry I can't ship much further than that).

If I won a book, I'd choose shiver cause all you gals are talking about how good it is. I haven't read the other two, and all my books are chosen because of who recommends it.

Variety said...

I definitely have a favorite candy - peanut butter M&Ms.

Variety said...

Favorite thing to do for date night . . . Date night? What's that? I don't think we've been on a "date" in 3 or 4 years. But A favorite would be something outdoors like going for a bike ride.

Unknown said...

ooh, Happy blog anniversary! That is big time! =)

My fav thing to do on date nights is go to the movies. Call me lame, but I love it!

BUT since that answer was sooo lame my favorite candy is sixlets. Weird huh?

Kristina P. said...

Wow, 3 years is quite an achievement! Congrats!

I think I would take Airhead.

Me (aka Danielle) said...

Congratulations on 3 years! That is fantastic. I'm glad you are a blogger..I've enjoyed getting to know you!

If I was to win..I would pick shiver. It seems to be the talk.

Me (aka Danielle) said...

My favorite candy...is ANYTHING coated in chocolate. I tend to lean towards M&M's or Kit Kat's though.

Me (aka Danielle) said...

I'm with Variety....

What is date night? On the rare occassions that they happen, I like a quiet dinner..just the two of us. Something that I treasure (because it doesn't happen often)

Olivia Carter said...

Wow- what a fun little giveaway & an interesting way to do it.

I would probably pick the Shiver book because you recommended it. I actually almost picked it up at Border's the other day.

Jenni Elyse said...

If you were to win, what book would you choose and why?

I would want Shiver. I only have 140 pages left to read and I love the story! I want my own copy. :)

Olivia Carter said...

Favorite candy? I like anything with chocolate and peanut but I'd probable say chocolate covered peanuts. In M&M form or really any form.

Jenni Elyse said...

Do you have a favorite candy?? Tell me!

I like Nerds and Strawberry Twizzlers the most out of all the candies I like. They're just so yummy!

Olivia Carter said...

We love movie nights- popcorn and drink necessary. Or a nice dinner, if we have some extra cash. And the temple.

We don't get date nights nearly enough!

Jenni Elyse said...

What's your favorite thing to do for date night?

I love to go mini golfing and out to dinner. If the weather's bad, I'll trade the mini golfing in for a movie.

Olivia Carter said...

P.S. I did that quiz and did horribly. Can we hang out in real life so we can get to know each other better?!?

Jenni Elyse said...

Woo hoo! I rocked the casbah on your quiz! Do I know you, or do I know you? :D

Strawberry Girl said...

So happy you have a blog!! Visit me... though I have been rather depressing lately. Oi'!!

*waves* Hi Debbie!

I would have to pick Shiver because Luisa has been talking it up so much that I'm really intrigued and I can't afford to buy it at the moment. :)

Favourite candy: Dark Chocolate M&Ms

Favourite thing to do for a date night? Wouldn't know, have only ever been on one official date. :(

Sabrina O'Malley said...

You do so many fun things on your blog. What a great idea! I think I live to far away to enter but have fun.

Unknown said...

My book choice would be Ruined because I already have the other 2.

Unknown said...

My favorite candy is probably Junior Mints. Very close second it Sixlets.

Unknown said...

For date night we usually go to a movie and grab some dinner. I don't really care though, as long as I'm with Hotty Scotty.

Heidi said...

I would choose Airhead. Ghost stories tend to give me nightmares. And Airhead looks potentially funny.

Heidi said...

Candy... mmmmm... chocolate....
Let's see, favorite would be... Snickers. I've been totally swayed by the advertising and I somehow accept that Snickers satisfies.

Heidi said...

Typical date night is The Office and ice cream. Favorite date night is a play and ice cream :o).

Heidi said...

I blogged and facebooked you. 5 more please.

Barbaloot said...

Ooh ooh-I want Shiver. Someone just wrote a post on it...was it you?---and it sounds interesting.

And my current favorite candy is AirHeads.

Jill Hunt said...

If I won a book I would probably choose Shiver since it sounds interesting. But really any of them because I need me a good book to read!

Jill Hunt said...

When it comes to candy I can think of so many I like because I am a total sweet tooth. I get it from my dad. But my favorites are Raisinets, Milk duds and milkyways.

Jill Hunt said...

My favorite thing to do for date night is really boring but it is to go out to dinner with Paul and actually talk. It is nice to talk without phone, TV, Kid, computer interruptions. We try not to answer our cell phones when we are out unless it is about whoever is watching the kids. We like to go to the movies too because we hardly get to watch a movie on the big screen anymore. But any date to me is wonderful because there are very few nowadays with us being so busy!

Little Crazies said...

Debbie, i just love your blog!! :) you're awesome!

If i were to choose a book, i'd pick any of the three, cause i haven't read any of them. and i am not picky about what to read :)

Little Crazies said...

and for a date night... hmm... i haven't had that for two years now... so i will not be picky about this one when we do get to have a date night... we'd go for a walk or movies :)

Little Crazies said...

and i love candy, so i don't care which ones to eat.. it does depend on my mood what to eat... sometimes i'm into the little chewy ones like skittles and jellybeans, and more often than not chocolate stuff like ferrero rocheros.. (or whatever they're called)

annie valentine said...

I have no idea which book I'd choose, but you look like a savvy reader, so I'll leave it up to you.

annie valentine said...

Favorite candy? I love plain M&M's. (I also love peanut butter M&M's, but nothing quite hits the spot like the original.) I swear I lose weight when I eat them on a regular basis.

annie valentine said...

Date night? It's all about the food. I love a good dive, followed by a visit to the driving range, the shooting range, or home on the range.

Rachel@MyPinkFlipFlops said...

Well I haven't read any of them, but just at a quick glance I might choose Airhead, because I liked the princess diaries.

Rachel@MyPinkFlipFlops said...

I love reese's peanut butter cups.

Rachel@MyPinkFlipFlops said...

Mr. Black Sneakers and I love watching a movie at home. We don't really like crowds, and we aren't so into movies that we need to see them when they first come out. A night snuggling on the couch is perfect for us!

Greg and Kimberly ... said...

Congrats on the three years, Debbie, that's awesome!
I would pick Shiver, because all of you ladies keep talking about it and they don't have it at the library down here in the desert.

Greg and Kimberly ... said...

I have a sweet tooth, so picking one is hard. Hmmmm.....if it's a candy bar, it's 100 Grand (and not just because I could use the money). I love that carmely-goodness mixed with the crunchies.
If it's actual candy, then Sour Patch Kids. Love the pucker-face I make when eating them. Call me weird, I know I am.

Greg and Kimberly ... said...

We love going to the movies, but as long as we're together, I don't care what we do.

Greg and Kimberly ... said...

call me crazy, but that last question on your quiz didn't make sense. It asked if you knew each other in high school, I said yes, and it said the answer was Churros. I laughed, but thought you should know about it!

Rachel Sue said...

Look at you, popular girl, having an awesome giveaway!

I think I would pick shiver. When you did that review a couple of posts ago, it looked really interesting.

Rachel Sue said...

I don't have a particularly favorite candy, but pretty much anything from Europe I would swoon for. . .

Rachel Sue said...

My favorite date night would sadly be one that will never, ever happen. I would love to go to see a musical. Something like Wicked. Les Mis. Something wonderful like that. Husband hates that stuff. Too bad for me.

Rachel Sue said...

Okay, I blogged about it!

Rachel Sue said...

I just have to say you did too know your husband in High school. He didn't go to your high school, but you knew him!

Brie said...

I would want shiver, because that is the only one I know anything about. This is fun. Thanks for doing giveaways to celebrate your blogversary!

Brie said...

Oh man. A favorite candy is hard to choose. But right now I would have to go with... Milk Duds.

Brie said...

Date night, what's a date night? Hahaha. I would have to say anything. I miss date nights. And says "Each Other" If that's not fun read the question and then his answer.

Kristie said...

I think the book that would interest me the most is Airhead by Meg Cabot. I have to admit I read all of the Princess Diaries books and liked them. She seems to be so down to earth, and real life, which is things that I enjoy.
Congrats on three years!

Mandi and Adam said...

Happy 3 Years! I love your blogs! I would choose Airhead because I'm not really into ghost/werewolf stories and it sounds like it would be a fun read. And I've liked other books I've read by Meg Cabot.

Kristie said...

We never get a date night, I always feel bad about making someone else watch my kids. (Usually it is a grandma, and she wants to do it at her house, which stresses me out. She has a "old" person house, not one that is suitable for little kids.)
Since my husband got his dream tv, we usually end up downstairs after the kids go to bed. We will find or rent a movie, and enjoy it. Also, we usually get Papa Murphy's pizza deal, with the cheese bread, and cookie dough to enjoy!

Mandi and Adam said...

My favortie candy? That's a really tough question. I love Take 5 candy bars and Whatchamacallits and Mars bars. I also love chocolate covered raisins. I love going to Costco with my mom because she'll almost always buy a big thing of chocolate covered raisins!

Mandi and Adam said...

Generally for date night, Adam and I end up going to dinner and then shopping/running errands. We also try to go to ward temple night and then get ice cream or something. But we've tried to branch out a little more lately. We went to Thanksgiving Point gardens a few weeks ago. We also like to go mini-golfing. We like to go to the Parade of Homes when it's going on. Anything when the kids aren't there and we can talk and jut be together is great!

Kristie said...

All of the sudden I can't remember what the candy bar is called. It is the one in the yellow wrapper, chocolate with peanuts in it. Also Mrs. Cavanaugh's Mindy Mints are the best ever! But if I need a subsitute for that, I will find the Utah truffles. They are just as good.
And Kellog's fruit snacks.

Emily Widdison said...

I had no idea you did this blog...what a cute one! I have spent way too much time reading this blog today so I will have to be brief with these comments.
:)
Book:Shiver

Emily Widdison said...

date:we NEVER go...but I would go out to eat to Macaroni Grill because it has been way way too long.

Emily Widdison said...

favorite candy?
Cinnamon Bears (only one kind though)
or pretty much any kind of milk chocolate

Kayla said...

I think Shiver would be my pick since I really liked it.

Erin said...

I would choose the book Shiver because it's the only one I have heard of, and it sounds good.

Erin said...

My favorite candy is definitely Peanut Butter Twix. Or Kit Kat. Or Watchamacallit.

Erin said...

I will ALWAYS choose to go out to eat on date night. My husband is very kind to put up with me and my bizarre food cravings.

(That quiz was hard! Sorry I sucked it up so bad.)

I completed the quiz.

Rachel+Co said...

If I won the book, I would have a hard time choosing, but I think I'd go for Shiver. I just read it and it blew my socks off. I really loved it, plus it's printed with blue ink.

Rachel+Co said...

i'd love to say that my favorite date night is going to a play or museum, or talking long walks in the moonlight but that would be a lie. My favorite date night really is dinner and a movie. It's so fun just to kick back and relax and take a break from regular life.

Rachel+Co said...

of course i have a favorite candy! any carmel from see's candy. but for everyday choices, i like starburst original flavor.

Jessica said...

I would choose shiver i am into the whole weird love story stuff

Kayla said...

My favorite candy... it's a toss us between Midnight Milky Way or Sweet's Dark Chocolate Orange Sticks. I'm all about the dark chocolate baby!

Kayla said...

Date night? What's that? I like doing anything just Brice and I, but my favorite is live theater. There's something almost magical about watching actors on stage!

Brie said...

Hey I'm facebooking about your blogaversary right now! I love reading your blog, I know others will too.

Victoria said...

I know... slow to enter. But better late than never. If I won my choice of the three books, I would definitely choose "Shiver." I have been dying to read it. My book budget is... well... you know.

Victoria said...

My favorite thing to do on date night is not very original. I LOVE going to movies. Not staying home to watch. GOING to the theater. In fact, my husband loves taking me. He knows he often gets lucky on movie night. ;-)

Victoria said...

Tweeting about your contest right now... sorry I'm so belated.

Victoria said...

OH, and my favorite candy. Hmm. I'm a bit of a purist. I like Reese's PB cups. But they have to be perfectly fresh and cool from the store... not cold... so that when you remove them from the paper cup, they come off entirely cleanly... no chocolate stuck to the paper, because if it sticks, I am tempted to lick it off, and that brown paper doesn't taste very good. However, I also like Hershey's with Almonds sometimes, and when I am in a minty mood, I like those 3 Musketeers Mint. The only problem is that they are lower in calories than regular candy bars, so I feel like I deserve (and so I do) eat TWO packages, rather than just one. I really can't be trusted with candy:(

Olivia Carter said...

Okay, 81 comments?!?! You're crazy cool Debbie, crazy cool!

Jana H. said...

If I won, I would choose shiver because it has the highest ratings on amazon.com and it is the one the catches my interest.

Jana H. said...

Favorite candy: Cadburry mini eggs. I'm so glad they're mostly available year-round now instead of just at Easter

Jana H. said...

Favorite date night activity: hiking. We don't do it often enough but I love it!
