Have you heard of this book? I picked it up about 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed it.
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater is about Grace, a 17 y/o who has long been connected to the yellow eyed wolf who watches over her. Sam lives half his life as a human in the summer and his winter life as a wolf. It's a two person narrative which I haven't read in a long time and really enjoyed. (Plus I was browsing her website and she seems pretty sweet!)
Shiver has been well loved in my circle of friends so I thought I'd share a brand new copy with one of you luckys. If you'd like to win this book here are a few things you could do (If you'd like multiple chances to win please leave a separate comment for each answer):

Looks like a GREAT Book!
P.S. I would much rather be cold. Its easier to get warmed up than it is to seek comfort when you are overheated...at least in my world!
And..I had a pretty good relationship with my parents in High School!
Ooh-I would like the new book! And I would much rather be too hot. I hate being cold. Hate it!!!
Sounds like a great book!!
I would rather be too cold.
My mom cooked the meals.
I had a great relationship with my parents in HS.
I really like poetry.
I hate being cold, so if I had to pick, I would rather be hot. Neither is very much fun, though.
My mom mostly cooked the meals, but my dad made us peanut butter sandwiches with a bowl of cinnamon rice fairly often. That was his specialty. And my dad usually makes Sunday breakfast.
I had a great relationship with my parents in high school.
I like photography. I used to be a newspaper reporter, and I usually had to take my own photos for my stories (which I loved), so I got a taste of it then, and some good advice. I should do that more. Even if I'm not super awesome, it is something I would enjoy. I think I hesitate because good photographers are so common now that we are in the digital camera age that I don't think I can contribute much.
On the rare occasions that I have tried it, I have enjoyed writing poetry. I have never tried writing music. I have often wondered if I would be good at it, but then I think it's probably not something that you "try" to do as much as it is something that just comes naturally to the people who are good at it.
I follow.
That does sound like a cute book!
I would rather be too cold. I get REALLY cranky when I am hot.
My mom cooked the meals, after working all day. I never learned how to cook until I got married.
I had a good relationship with my dad, but not my mom, and in fact, it's never been repaired for various reasons.
And I had a good relationship with my parents, only because I was a people pleaser to the extreme and did everything I could to make them happy.
Oh and your in-laws question - I have two sets, so that made it a teeny bit difficult to answer :) (One answer for one set, a different answer for the different set)
I can't wait to read the book! I'm so excited to borrow yours! Thanks so much for letting me do that. :)
Debbie -
Is your husband the artist? I'm hoping that you are the blogger I'm thinking of that I sat next to at the Moms Who make It conference. You were telling me about your husband drawing cartoons? Anyway, I saw this advertisement on Craigs List today and thought of him. Maybe he already has way too much to do, but this guy is looking for freelance artists in cartooning to help him out: http://saltlakecity.craigslist.org/med/1316800787.html
Anyway, just thought of you and your husband when I saw it.
Take Care,
Kara
I put this on my Shelfari wish list yesterday. Did you get a copy in TX?
I'd rather be too cold. You can always put more layers ON, there is only so much you can take OFF. :)
Mom cooked the meals. Dad would occasionally do fish sticks if mom was sick.
Good relationship with mom, most of the time. So-so with my dad. (Lots of drama you don't want to know about!)
Poetry and photography.

I already follow you!
Tell me, would you rather be too hot or too cold?
Too cold because I can always pile on the layers!!!
~Growing up, who cooked the meals in your family?
My father!
~Did you have a good relationship with your parents in high school (yes or no is fine)?
Yes... with BOTH
~Do you like poetry, writing music, photography (any or all)?Photography and writing! :) I love to listen to music! :)
I love new books.
I would so rather be cold. I could never live in Arizona. EVER.
My mom always cooked growing up.
I didn't really do well with my parents in High school.
Poetry and photography
I would rather be hot than cold; my mom cooked the meals and we assisted (it was the rule--if you want to eat, you help cook); good relationship--yes; no for poetry if it's sappy/serious, yes if it's funny/serious; no for writing music, and would love to learn to be a better photographer.
Can I try to win it?
If so, I'd much rather be hot... the cold and I do not get along.
When I wasn't overly hormonal, I had a good relationship with my parents. On bad weeks, my mom and I would frequently end up in screaming power struggles... gotta love good ol' PMS!
I like writing poetry, I like singing music, and I enjoy other people's photographic talents!
My mom cooked most of the time, but my dad was the Sunday night chef. My sisters and I liked to take over and cook once we got into high school.

I still follow! :)
most definatly too hot! I hate to be cold! sadly I am mostly cold though.
Seeing as how I can't write poetry or music and I am not that great at taking pictures I can't claim I do any,but I sure wish I could. I enjoy singing, listen, and reading if that counts for anything.
First have of high school was bad, second half was great!!!
mom did the most cooking but my dad made a pretty tasty grilled cheese.
