Ok not really but I'm curious about something and thought I'd run a little poll.
Do you brush your teeth with warm/hot water or cold water? (You dont have to but if you'd like to include why you do--have you ever even thought twice about it?-- it'd be interesting to see if what I'm thinking is just a hunch or plausible.)
I'll post my theory/question in the comments in a few days if you'd like to check back in and see what prompted this.

This is so funny you bring this up. I have to have cold water to brush my teeth.
But my husband brushes his teeth in the shower, with hot water. It sort of grosses me out.
It's pretty much like that Seinfeld episode where Kramer makes the salad in the shower, after installing the garbage disposal in it. It's just like that.
Cold water...Hot water makes me feel like I didn't get them minty fresh clean.
I'm a cold water girl---but sometimes I brush my teeth in the shower in which case it'd be warm I guess:) Still, cold is first choice.
I brush with cold water. I have no idea why. I just have always done it. I have to say the few times when it's been warm water my mouth it doesn't feel as fresh- like the commenter above said.
Cold Water. Who wants to drink warm water?
Cold water, because warm would just gross me out...
I use warm water because the cold hurts my teeth too much.
When I was younger, I always used cold water. Now that I'm old and my teeth are all sensitive, I use warm water.
Cold. Warm = GROSS. Just asked Superman. He says he doesn't care. Which means that sometimes he starts brushing his teeth, and I join in, only to get WARM water. Is disgusting.
I usually brush my teeth in cold water. I've done it in warm water before, but cold is the norm. I've never really thought about why I do it, though. Probably because it takes too long for the warm to become warm.
It has to be cold. Because I'm OCD like that. My mom brushes in warm water, and I always thought she was weird :)
Um, cold of course. Who are these people who brush their teeth in the shower? That's just weird.
Cold. Because warm is disgusting. The only thing that is good warm is chocolate and you can't brush your teeth with that!
COLD! Warm water..yuck! I can't do it (unless forced)
my teeth are kinda sensitive so I brush with warm, it hurts less than with cold water.
Cold, but just because. I'm not really particular.
Usually cold but Paul's teeth are sensitive and if we are brushing teeth at the same time I use the warm because he is. But usually cold but not ice cold.
Debbie -
I started with warm and then after everything is nice and clean I hit 'em with the ice cold water. Mmmmm - good!
By-the-way, I met you at the Moms Who Make It conference - I think I sat next to you in one of the classes (I'm the one with my hair just starting to grow in). I was wondering if you'd do something for me? Would you take a second and look at a new blog I just started? www.reallyincrediblewomen.blogspot.com
It just launched today, and I'm really interested to see what people think. If you like what you see, please let people know - I've got a button on the sidebar if you'd like it.
Thanks so much.

I gave you an award!

I start with warm, to soften up my toothbrush, then go to cold. I have sensitive teeth. Too much info? :) Miss you, girl.
I ususally use cold water. Mostly because I'm right handed and so that's the knob I always turn on. I don't mind using warm water, in fact I can use no water in really desperate situations and still be happy.
COLD, I have to have cold. It is definitely the freshness factor for me.
I am waiting on one more piece of the puzzle to my theory before I tell you my idea. I'll try to get it tomorrow so I can post accurately. :)
Just didnt want you to think I'd forgotten.
Ok so here was my idea and after thinking about it longer it didnt make much sense. Haha.
My mother-in-law mentioned the other day how her house has soft water so when she uses the bathroom downstairs to brush her teeth she can't use the faucet since it's too salty. So I figured that perhaps that might have explained why my hubby uses hot water (I dont know why I jumped to that conclusion).
Anyway so I was going to poll his family and all of you to see if possibly the soft water made a difference in preference.
I didnt get to all of his family but it indeed is true that some of his siblings use hot water also (even when their spouses use cold).
I am an avid cold water fan however so I was interested to see who shares in that also.
That is all. Good day to you. :)
