I'm going to another book signing next weekend and would LOVE to get a book signed for YOU! Thats right, right here you can win a copy of Bree Despain's The Dark Divine. I LOVED how my friend Olivia described the book: "Not a romance, but action, mystery, and love story." Yes! So good. You gotta read it. (PS Her contest for the same book ends tonight, if you want to double your chances of winning....)

Please share your list of books you plan to read, cause I need help!
Some of my favorite inspirational books, that help me get through one more day being a mom, are by Emily Watts. "Being the Mom" and "Take two chocolates and call me in the morning". They are pretty easy reads, but give you the inspiration to keep going!
Oh, and you can just put Kristie on it. Thanks!
Don't enter me in because I've got my own, thanks to my lovely adventure with you! BUT I did want to recommend a couple books:
Poisonwood Bible (loved this book it's about a group of sisters with their preacher father in Africa. It's not an easy book but it's worth it)
Beautiful Creatures (I haven't technically finished this. I'm 1/2 through but I want someone else to read it so we can talk about it!)
Katura & Lord Death (This is an amazing little tale with lots of allegories & it's sweet & sad. Might be one of my favs)
GREAT GIVEAWAY BY THE WAY- to have people get their names put on it. LOVE IT!
I don't think I can wait any longer for this book. It keeps creeping in to my mind, so I may just end up buying it this weekend. ;)
You're so cool! I love all these great book suggestions. One I plan on reading this year is The Magnificent Obsession by Lloyd C. Douglas - My mom and dad recommended it and they're great recommenders.
Our book club read a couple of interesting ones this past year, "Peace Like A River" by Leif Enger (reminded me a bit of 'To Kill a Mockingbird') and "Out of the Dust" by Karen Hesse. This one is written in journal form through the eyes of a 10 year old during the Dust Bowl period. Interesting and easy reads.
I wish I had book suggestions, but I have a hard time finding a spare moment to read. It takes me forever to get through a book, although I do love to read.
And um.....Rochelle on the book please!
Ooh-I wanna win! And I want my name in it: Barbara. PS-you can find me on facebook:)
As far as books to read---I have a whole bunch of easy/enjoyable/don't require thinking reads. Sorry if any of these are repeats for you:
-True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle
-Goose Girl series by Shannon Hale
-Princess Academy by Shannon Hale
-The Warrior Heir series (there are 3)
-Percy Jackson and the Olympian Series (there are five)
-Ella Enchanted by Gail Levine
If you wanted intense, inspirational books...don't ask me cuz I don't know any:)
Okay, so I am shunning Facebook for a little while... so I can't help you there. Although, when I am back, I will suggest some fun new friends for you:) Meanwhile, I am trying to think of any books that I have read that you may not have... hmm. Okay. Have you read the Erec Rex series by Kaza Kinglsey? I rather like that one. I know you have read all the Jessica Day George ones. I doubt I will be able to come up with any YA novels to stump you. So I am going to have to resort to my grown-up book list:) Here are some that I loved, that you may or may not have read:
1. The Thirteenth Tale, by Diane Setterfield
2. The Glass Castle Castle, by Jeannette Walls (non-fiction, but amazing)
3. Love Walked In (and there is a sequel too!) by Marisa de los Santos
4. Stormy Weather by Paulette Jiles (I also loved her first book, Enemy Women)
5. I love to re-read my favorite Austen books, which are Pride and Prejudice, Sensibility, Persuasion and Emma.
6. The Zookeeper's Wife (also non-fiction) by Diane Ackerman
7. Shadow Spinner by Susan Fletcher
8. Lost Boys, by Orson Scott Card... or the Ender's Shadow series, or the Alvin Journeyman series...
9. Okay, seriously, ANYTHING by OSC
10. Girl of the Limberlost, by Gene Stratton-Porter
11. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
12. The Airborn series by Kenneth Oppel
13. Garden Spells, by Sarah Addison Allen
14. The Penderwick series by Jeanne Birdsall
Man, I wish I had a fortune to spend on books this year... they are yummy, aren't they??? :)
You can just go ahead and put Rachel on the book. :D
um..no recommendations, but I might be stealing the ones on here!
How exciting! I wish I had a decent bookstore near me. It's hard living in a small town sometimes :(
As for books, wow. I just finished reading all 7 Harry Potter books. One I really want to read is one that Motherboard suggested - Bitter is the New Black. I wish I had more to suggest! I've got to get out more often :)
I would like one for my friend Ali since I'll already be getting one signed to me. :)
1. Mortal Instruments trilogy by Cassandra Clare (I know I keep bringing that up)
2. Graceling and Fire by Kristin Cashore if you haven't read those.
3. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins if you haven't read it yet.
4. The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
5. A Company of Swans and A Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotson
I'll have to get back to you on a book list but it looks like you've already got a great chunk in the comments.
I already have TDD so I won't enter but thank you all the same! =]
I would love to have a book signed for me Amber Lynae.
I can suggest som friend on facebook, but you hav e probalby read most of the books that I have read.
I liked Bright Blue Miracle. By Becca Wilhite.
Also if you haven't read any Anita Stansfield books I think I llove all of hers.
Oh I want to win or I will never read this book! Did you know it's not available on amazon or half.com? sad.
If I win :) Just my first name would be ok.
I think the best book I read last year was "Still Alice" by Lisa Genova (sp?)
Ok, I'm off to send you more friends on FB!
I'd like the book to be signed "to Tawnya" cause you know I need my own copy.
We probably read a lot of the same stuff, so here's a few I think you might not have tried:
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (series), and if you haven't read them, the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. For any others, check my ratings on shelfari.
Book recommendations, how fun!
For you, I would recommend Maggie Stiefvater's other two books: Lament and Ballad. Dark, spicy and funny. I think they're just your kind of book. A little more action-intense than Shiver. Also, Linger comes out this year (the sequel to Shiver.)
I second Jennie's recommendation for Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I also loved Fire, but I don't know if you will.
Also, Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty
And have you read any of the Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead? Are you sick of vampires? I really surprised myself by liking these books.
And you asked about Sweethearts by local author Sara Zarr. It really is a beautiful book. Just went in a different direction than I normally like, but it was still very sweet. I definitely recommend it for you.
Happy reading.
FYI "Me" :) You actually can get this book on Amazon. I preordered three of them there and actually just checked again today and the price is only up .20 or so at around 12.40ish. I think at the bookstores though they're 18-20.
I want to enter because you inspire me to read Debbie. I use to read ALL the time when I was younger but haven't done it much since my 20's. I need me some books to read to get back into. Sorry I can't suggest any to you though!
Is this giveaway opens to everyone?
If yes,I wanna enter!
:)

Good book suggested by me:
Dirty Little Secret by C. J. Omololu (but it's not available till 2nd Feb)
Fallen by Lauren Kate
Oh please enter me in the drawing. I'm so tempted to just go buy the book instead of waiting for it from the library. If I win, I want my name in it. You know where to find me.
I am all over this one! Please, please enter me!!
As for other good books to read..some classics (that I keep around the house) are Illusions by Richard Bach. Some lighthearted reads (from the youth section) are James and the Giant Peach, From the Mixed up files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler and Charlie and the Glass Elevator.
Just my name...Melanie
There are some good book recommendations on here! Sweet! I rather enjoyed The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield as well... We read that in my book club and it was an interesting read. I can't think of any REALLY good ones off the top of my head... sorry about that.
Oh, and if I win, I want Mishka as the name. :) Sweet!
Oh, and I'll send some friend suggestions on facebook your way! :)
Debbie, if you want a new friend, I am totally up for the challenge! :) We should get together soon. I think our boys are close to the same age.
Also, as far as books go, I always suggest To Kill a Mockingbird, because it's my all time favorite.
I bought the Memory Keeper's Daughter, and I need to finish it, so I'm not sure if I recommend it yet, though I bought it on a recommendation.
Also, if you want a fast read that is kind of fun (but young) my niece loves the Enola Holmes series, and I've read all but one of them, and I enjoyed them. They are a fast easy read.
My sister in law keeps wanting me to read the Book Thief, which apparently is a YA novel about World War 2 from Death's point of view. Sounds interesting.
I've also heard that the Shopaholic series is good, but haven't had the time to check it out. If you have, let me know! :)
Seriously though, call me or FB me and we should hang out! I'd love to get to know you better! :)
One last thing, I really want to win! :) So, WHEN I do, (ha ha) I would like it to say SUSAN... (Pronounced SOO-ZIN) :) She can even dedicate it to Soozin. :)
I've never said no to a free book! If I win I'd like it to say, "To the "Divine" Kayla, goddess of all!" Well, not really, just plain ol' Kayla will do!
Books Suggestions for you:
The Season - Sarah MacLean
The Ranger's Apprentice Series (there's 7 of them, but they're fast reads) - John Flanagan
Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow - Jessica Day George
Crown Duel - Sherwood Smith
Along for the Ride or The Truth About Forever - both by Sarah Dessen
And even though these have already been suggested I'll second them!
A Countess Below Stairs - Eva Ibbotson (I own it if you want to
borrow it)
Keturah and Lord Death - Martine Leavitt
And I've officially made another ginormous post. I try to be brief, but it never seems to work. *sigh*
Currently I'm reading Happy at Last: The Thinking Person's Guide to Finding Joy by Richard O'Connor and it is so good! It logically goes through why society has influenced our though process and why we are unhappy. So far so good.
The other suggestion I have is The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (Book 1) by Alexander McCall Smith. It's about this lady who opens her own detective agency in Africa. It's very entertaining and it comes in a series- which I haven't gotten to yet.
Jana would be just fine on the book.
Just checked back to see any other good book recommendations:) I am going to have to check out Rachel+Co.'s... I also just read this book called The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. I am not a big fan of self-help marriage counseling:) But I have been fascinated by this concept of knowing someone's primary "love language," so that you can express love in a meaningful way... not just to your spouse, but to anyone. I really enjoyed it, and it made a lot of sense to me. It was a fast read. I have noticed things about my kids and my husband that I had not noticed before, as well as others in my life. You might enjoy it!
If I win, the book would be for me, so just Mandi is good.
A couple books I like if you haven't read them already:
The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
Letters for Emily by Camron Wright
The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks if you want a cute romance story
I need new and good books to read so I would love this!! If I win it will be for me so Jillene it would be.
My book recomendations would be anything and everything by James Patterson (he is racy though) or anything by Mary Higgins Clark.
Ooo... I still haven't read The Dark Divine & would love to have a signed copy (to Avonlea). :) Wanting to enter contests for The Dark Divine is actually a big part of what finally convinced me to dip my toes into blogging & tweeting these past couple weeks.
Also, sharing (and receiving) book recommendations is seriously one of my favorite things in the whole entire world! :) I love many of the books Jenni Elyse & Rachel mentioned. So I'm going to repeat a few of their suggestions.
Awesome YA:
1. City of Bones, Ashes, and Glass (The Mortal Instruments series) by Cassandra Clare. <-- I absolutely LOVE those books! :)
2. Graceling and Fire by Kristin Cashore <-- both are absorbing fantasy novels w/ strong heroines & a nice touch of romance
3. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl <-- a paranormal romance with a southern, gothic flavor, told from the guy's POV which sets it apart from the sea of paranormal novels flooding YA right now (slight warning: this is the first in a series, so don't expect 100% plot resolution)
4. The Hunger Games & Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins <-- intense & amazing, this series is impossible to put down once you start reading.
Fun Middle-Grade/YA:
1. Fly By Night by Frances Hardinge <-- clever humor + imaginative writing + plot twists = a very memorable read.
2. Any book by Tamora Pierce <-- she has written several fantasy adventures, all featuring intelligent, capable heroines
3. Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld <-- illustrated adventure story set at the start of WWI, alternating POVs & the steampunkish historical setting help make this a fast, fun read.
Great classics:
1. Any book by Jane Austen <-- There is nothing better than Austen. Period. :)
2. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee <-- told with a totally believable & unique voice, this novel will stick with you forever.
3. Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy <-- depressing but excellent, I always feel drawn to Thomas Hardy novels in the winter when the landscape is kind of bleak .
Miscellaneous:
1. Family Skeletons by Rett MacPherson <-- the 1st in a series of Torie O'Shea mysteries following a likable small town mom/genealogy-enthusiast who has a knack for getting mixed up in mysteries.
2. Cheaper by the Dozen by Frank Gilbreth & Ernestine Gilbreth Carey <-- hilarious & heartwarming middle-grade book written in 1948 & based upon the real-life adventures of one quirky family of fourteen.
Happy reading! :)
