Random Ramblings

Every now and then I gotta test my skills. Last nights score came out at 87 wpm.

You know that "about me" on the blogger profile? Yeah, well I've probably read yours lately. I've been wanting to revamp mine. I've been having these moments lately where I feel like that little snippet ultimately defines me. I know a small percentage of people even actually see it so why should I care? But I'm feeling like I need to be more expressive of who I am and not just who my family is. Still working on it.

*****
I've been reading Miss Delacourt Speaks Her Mind, by Heidi Ashworth. I'm 1/2 through and really enjoying it. I'd recommend picking it up if you haven't yet.

One of my favorite quotes so far: "She knew now that he was everything she thought he could never be..."

It really hasn't felt like summer yet. Not really, not for me. School got out two weeks ago but the very next Monday we started swim lessons, for all three of my kiddos (little man and I have been doing mommy and me classes). Totally love swim lessons, but driving out there for two weeks everyday really means the end is a thrill for me. Ah summer I welcome you with open arms.

Big plans for me in the next two days. Going to a Relief Society Retreat in Park City. Good friends, lots of laughs. Then off to Kristina P.'s bloggy lunch. Wonder if The Hoff will be there (in cardboard form of course)? Meeting friends, lots of laughs. Also stopping by Shannon Hale's book release/signing, wish she was my friend, she totally makes me laugh! Should prove to be a grand few days!!

*****
Speaking of Shannon her friend Libba Bray posted this hilarious video. Watch it, literally. Tell me if you laughed or not.

I am so excited to meet you! And it's funny you mention The Hoff, because I am literally printing off some Hoff surprises right now.,

I'm wishing I had decided to go to Kristina's lunch, now that I'm reading about so many people going. Too shy... next time for sure.

I'm impressed with the WPM!

My husband's exact response to the video was, "Okay. That was hilarious, but what the heck were they thinking with the real song and that video?!"

We laughed. More than once. And I'm excited to meet you tomorrow!

p.s. I know what you mean about the profile. I always feel like it has to be just perfect. Then a little while ago I decided I wanted to just put quotes there. But I understand the "pressure" you feel.

Seriously..I feel the pressure that is a 'profile'. I've thought about revamping mine many times.....

Um, where did you get Heidi's book? Because I'm going to tell my mom to get it for me for my bday, and I'll need a specific location. . .

Thanks!

See you tomorrow!

Hey, I got a google alert on Miss D and found this--thanks so much for the plug and the linky love! It is high time I visited your blog, huh? I'm gonna click the follower button but that doesn't mean I'm going to show up to read your posts for a while b/c I'm not blogging right now (shhh! Don't tell anyone I was here--and give Kristina a big hug for me tomorrow!)(PS LOVE the specific feedback. I'm kinda fond of that line, tooo . ..)

I wish I could go to the luncheon! I wish I didn't live three hours away :(

I saw that literal video version of Total Eclipse just last week. I laughed my guts out!

I understand what you mean about the wanting to revamp the "about me" description. I want to revamp mine too, but I don't know what to write either.

By the way, I love the new Spring 2009 photo of the kids. It's so cute!

Holy crap! That video was HILARIOUS!!! I laughed so loud that I woke up the baby!

And I totally am the same with profile summaries. I hate trying to sum myself up in a paragraph or less! It's like those awful 1st day of school "Take 30 seconds to tell about yourself" assignments.
