Made By Me

My friend Brie signed us up for a Wilton Cake Decorating class (Course 1) and I've been waiting till the end to show some of my creations. They are in order from 2nd week to 4th week (the first week we didnt take a cake). Please dont judge me, because the 4th week was my least favorite, so not cool looking, thing. Haha.

This week we learned how to do an image transfer (so super easy!) and I made this for my sweet hubby.

It's late and I dont remember what we learned this week but here's my cake. The orange things are supposed to be leaves by the way. And no not every cake needed to be Halloween themed. In fact none of them needed to be. I was just feelin' this one.

This last week we learned to make roses, bows and sweat peas. I could make an ok rose but unlike the rest of the class I just didnt want to put roses on my cake. I saw a cute example in the book of flat flowers with star fill so I attempted those. However in the book they obviously used cookie cutters for patterns before randomly placing star fill on the cake. Oh well. Live and learn.

For the record, each of these cakes are torted (cut in half) and filled with something yummy! I learned some super cool tricks to frosting the cake and not getting crumbs as you're spreading (dont you hate that?) and how easy it is to fill the cake, such a great unexpected treat to those you're serving it to.

It was a super fun class and we had the cutest, nicest teacher. I'd love to take the 2nd course sometime. Only, possibly when my month isn't on the verge of exploding (anyone else out there having a crazy busy month?). Although I will say for as 'I just wanna crawl in a hole my life is so busy' as this month was, it was nice to have some form of creative outlet!

Totally cute! I am holy lame when it comes to even icing a cake, so I stand in awe at this kind of thing. Way to go!

I LOVE the Jack cake! It's the coolest cake ever! You'll have to make me one for my birthday or something. ;) You did a great job with all the cakes.

Love the jack cake too! But they are all great & I feel the same way about roses on cakes. If they aren't black & macabre then I'm not a fan.

I do not think that this cakes are made by you because it is looking like it is made by professionals. They are very cute and very yummy. No one can say that you have done classes for it because you are seems to be professional cake maker.
