Marriage Monday: Treat it Differently

{image source}
"If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it and protect it. You never abuse it. You don’t expose it to the elements. You don’t make it common or ordinary. If it ever becomes tarnished, you lovingly polish it until it gleams like new. It becomes special because you have made it so, and it grows more beautiful and precious as time goes by."
-F. Burton Howard

My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last Friday. My husband and I will celebrate our 25th next month. I didn't know so much life could be crammed into 25 years back in the beginning. I'm imagined busy, I expected joy, but I don't think I underrstood hard, heart-wrenching, and work. It boggles my brain to think of being where my parents are. All of those thoughts are lovely platitudes until real life hits and you must CHOOSE to put them into practice.

Thanks for doing Marriage Mondays. This month for the youth the theme is Marriage and Family. I have been re-reading some of the quotes you shared, and they are so helpful! Thanks a bunch!
