Blogger Meet Up & Blickenstaffs Review

Just a reminder:

On Saturday the Utah Bloggers Meetup held their first social at Blickenstaffs. It's funny that I mainly went to get to socialize with some awesome people but came away with no pictures of the lovely gals I talked to and instead got a billion pictures of the AMAZING store that hosted our gathering.

So hopefully a little shout out to those that came will suffice while I show you pictures of Blickenstaffs.

April (Sweet Life in The Valley), Lindsey (Cafe Johnsonia), Carlee (Living the Scream), Jaimie (Just-Jaimie), Camille (Make It Work Mom), Susan (Freshly Picked), Kim (Kim Orlandini), Nicole (Cute Culture Chick), Karen (Surviving the Etsy Madness), Pamala (French Knots), Lindsey (the r house), Brittany ({Love Stitched}), Leslie (Little Mookie), Liz (Cotton and Curls), Diana (Livy Love), Molly (Fluer de Bee), Sarah (Cable Car Couture) Gayle (Mom and Camera). I know there were other great women there, but I didnt get a chance to meet them all (if you were there let me know though and I'd be happy to include a link to your blog!).

After we were all introduce into the store we were told there were 10 golden eggs hiding somewhere. If we found one, inside was the name of a prize. And check it out! I totally found one. Our host, Kyle, told us that this was their most popular selling game last year. My kids were thrilled I came home with a new game.

You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter, and on their Website.

The store kindly sent us all home with a bag full of our choice of candy (we had SO much to choose from) and believe me when I say my kids were more excited about the bag I was holding than to see me coming home. Haha.

I just had to include this. I didnt actually even ask how much it was since I'm sure it'd be more that $5 :) but if I could afford it, I'd love to get this for my husband!

Marriage Monday: Fiercely Loyal

“When you are married, be fiercely loyal one to another. Selfishness is the great destroyer of happy family life. If you will make your first concern the comfort, the well-being, and the happiness of your companion, sublimating any personal concern to that loftier goal, you will be happy, and your marriage will go on throughout eternity.”

--Gordon B. Hinckley, April 1995

Tell me Tuesday: 30 for 30

My 29th birthday is coming up and I've been toying with the idea of coming up with a list of

30 things before 30.

I like to think I try new things but it's always fun to get ideas from other places since I'm sure many of them would be things I haven't thought of before.

What do you say? Will you help me out? Throw out a few ideas for me in the comments and I'll try to make my list up here in the next couple of weeks.

Edit: Here's my current list of 30 Things to do before I'm 30.

Marriage Monday: Speak the Right Language

The Five Love Languages
  1. Words of Affirmation-Hearing the words "I love you" are important-hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward.
  2. Quality Time-Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes your significant other feel truly special and loved.
  3. Receiving Gifts-If you speak this language, the perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized above whatever was sacrificed to bring the gift to you.
  4. Acts of Service-Anything you do to ease the burden of responsibilities weighing on an “Acts of Service” person will speak volumes. The words he or she most want to hear: “Let me do that for you.”
  5. Physical Touch-Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love.
I'd highly encourage you to get a hold of this book and learn more about each love language, both for yourself and for your spouse (or others you know). You can visit the official website and take an assessment right now.
