Random Ramblings

The UPS man drives down my street at least 3 times a week. I live on a dead end street. That seems like a lot, but I dont mind cause sometimes it's for me.

*****
I saw a spider as small as an ant yesterday on the paper I was reading. I squished it with my finger. I had the itchy, heebie, jeebies for a solid hour afterward.

*****
Last weekend I went out to lunch (at the Olive Garden...mmmmm) with some awesome girls. I forgot to take a picture but it looked like this--->(yes I drew that just for you). I ordered Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. I took half of it home. The other girls left theirs because they said it wasn't as good reheated. I had an epiphany. The next day I warmed it up in a pan on my stove with about 1/3 cup of milk. It was divine. (Not quite as fantastic without the warm bread sticks or salad this time but still I'm so glad I took it home!)

*****
I think I'm pretty close to being down with my Christmas shopping for my kids. Now it's on to my immediate family, the name we drew for my hubbys family and my hubby. Great, those always seem to be the hardest to buy for. It seems I'm always buying my dad books or movies.

The End.

i learned years ago always reheat leftover pasta on the stove. i even do spaghetti that way! i just don't like my pasta rubbery.. besides what the microwave does to cream sauces.
I love the sound of the UPS truck!. when we lived in Ogden we lived on a street that dead ended at the top, he came almost every day. one house about 3 days a week. i wonder what she got!
i can't start Christmas until our October payday. grumpy gets paid 1 time a month on the 15th. and now our house in Ogden is rented i am not afraid to spend money!

Where have you been all my life..I never heard of reheating pasta like that. I'm the lame one that always throws it in the micro and regrets it not tasting as great as I had hoped! Thanks for elightening me!

This year I drew my brother and sister-in-law that live in China. What do you get for a couple that can get anything you want in American for 1/4 as cheap in China?

I actually think that pasta is one of the only things I will take home as leftovers. It usually heats up pretty well.

You are the 2nd friend who has said they are almost done Christmas shopping. So I am curious how you do it in your family? Do you have a budget for each kid, or do you get them like one big thing and then a few little things? I think we go over board every year on the kids because I do the whole, well so and so has 3 more gifts than so and so, or I forget what I have gotten and see something else that they would want. We do budget so much per kid, but probably go over our budget because we both love Christmas. But I get stressed because we have to buy for a couple in Paul's family, a couple in my family, we do cousin exchanges on both sides which the kids love but can be expensive because it is a $10 on each kid and since we have 5 kids then it adds up to $100 just for cousins and then there is my parents, Paul's parents, my grandma because she lives in Pleasant Grove by herself, teacher gifts, neighbor gifts, a few friends' gifts and I think that is it. Oh my, I really better get started. But to be honest, I LOVE to shop for other people, and I love to wrap Christmas presents. I know I am crazy. Okay I will shut up now!

I'm never done with Christmas until Christmas Eve or after. Corey and I just don't put that much effort into Christmas because he hates it or because we never seem to have any money around Christmas time. I used to love Christmas, but I've been out of it for so long that I just can't seem to get into it. Oh well.

Seriously? Christmas?

Thanks for the tip about the pasta. I do that with mac and cheese for the kids, I hadn't thought about the alfredo. That's what I always get at Olive Garden, too.

We love watching the UPS guy drive and hope he stops at our house. Opening up those brown boxes is such a treat!

I love the picture of us at lunch. You captured my butt so well. (It is most definitely shaped like a triangle.)

Let's do it again, so I can order the Fettuccine Alfredo.

Okay, I sort of hate you right now for being almost done with Christmas shopping, when I haven't started, and won't for a couple of months...

I totally would have taken their food home with me and fed it to my kids. . . How ghetto is that?

Alrighty, I think you needed labels on the 'paint pic' so I could figure out who is who. I see dark hair, medium hair, blue eyes, green eyes, brown eyes. WHICH ONE IS ME!?!?

Seriously though, that gave me a good laugh.

And Christmas shopping done already! You are insane woman! I'm shopping up until the last min.

Great tip on reheating the pasta.

I'm impressed with the Christmas shopping. If I had mine done right now, my kids would change their minds about what they want.

I've started my Christmas shopping, but I haven't gotten very far because I need to have the kids write their wish lists before I decide what to get!

I love the picture of us ladies at lunch. I had a great time. Thanks for the invite. So, speaking of random ramblings...I am no longer able to see updates on your family blog. If possible will you add me so I can see your family updates?

Jill Hunt said...

Oh and do you still do your family blog? I haven't seen anything on there for a very long time!

The UPS truck, the FedEx truck and some guy in a blue pick-up that needs a muffler drive into our court several times a day. I'm CERTAIN they do it just to make my three dogs bark like lunatics. I'm fairly certain I can see the truck drivers laughing as they go around the court.
